You are lucky to succeed
January 20, 2008 at 2:51 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentWhen people succeed in life, it is because of hard work, but I think being lucky is also an important reason that leads you to success.
First of all, I think being talented is kind of good luck. Edison once said, “Genius is ninety-nine-percent of perspiration and one-percent of genius”. I think to have the one-percent talent is lucky. Mozart, the well-known musician, is lucky to have the gift from god-his sense of music. The gift not only made him reached his goal easier but also bought him confidence. Finally, with his hard work and talent, he became one of the greatest musicians. Even though it’s just a one-percent talent, I think it’s still lucky to own it.
Second, having someone to support you or push you is lucky. The greatest artist van Gogh was lucky to have the support from his brother. Van Gogh was talented and working hard, but he didn’t have enough money buy the painting brush. Thanks to his brother’s help, van Gogh’s painting is worth million dollars. I think being supported by someone is lucky and important.
Third, being discovered by someone is lucky, too. You are talented, hardworking, and your family is rich enough to cover your expense, but there isn’t anyone to hire you as their worker, all of your hard works are useless. Chaplin is lucky to be discovered by the manager of a star company, it’s the coincidence that he got the chance to replace his mother to sing on the stage, and the coincidence itself is kind of luck, he now is an actor who own the world fame.
Being successful requires your hard work, but I think it is also important to have some good luck. We can’t take everything for granted, I think being talented, having someone’s support, and being discovered are all kind of good luck. We should be grateful to what we have. To me, I think being successful is fifty percent of hard work and fifty percent of good luck!
